My weekend - Barack Obama in the house!

Picture this, Washington, DC, 2008… A young man with golden curly locks, puts that finishing touches on his hipster Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo, checks himself out in the mirror, throws the dog a bone and heads out for the evening. Outside a chauffeured black Lincoln Navigator awaits. The man climbs into the car and is handed a glass of champagne by a woman that is so stunning, elegant and beautiful, she’s certain to have all eyes on her, the entire night.

The dazzling duo arrives at The Convention Center and is escorted through security and to their table that they share with friend’s Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife Alderman Sandi Jackson. The couple was amazed that out of the 250-300 tables in the room, they were sitting right up front and center. That golden locked man was me. The woman, my best friend Mary Barth and the venue was The 2008 Congressional Black Caucus Gala.

It’s going to take me a minute to process everything that happened last night because I was so blown away by Barack Obama’s speech. That fact that I was sitting a few, short feet away from him made it all the more dynamic. The man has charisma, style and substance but what’s more important, the man has a plan!

After the dinner and Barack’s speech, we headed over to Yebbie Watkin’s event at The French Embassy. We enjoyed the best champagne, music from Chuck “DJ Dirty Hands” and all of the fabulous people that attend the event every year.

Oh my goodness people, 38 days until we vote! I believe Oct. 6th is the last day to register. Let’s get out there and do what we have to do!

Have a great Sunday, it’s actually a very nice day!

Paul xx
