Jennifer Hudson’s horrible tragedy..

I can’t believe that only a month ago, Jennifer and I were laughing, joking and catching up on all of the really wonderful things that have been happening in her life. I am horrified by the news that Jennifer’s mother Darnell Donerson, 57 and brother Jason Hudson, 29 were found shot to death in their south side Chicago home. The details are unclear but most signs are pointing to her sister’s deranged (and estranged) husband. The man has had a history of domestic violence and he was recently told by Darnell Donerson to stay away from the family house.

Jennifer and I share a mutual friend that told me that the Oscar award winning song bird has begged and pleaded with her mother to move out of the neighborhood that is plagued by violence. Her mother felt very proud of the home she built and refused her daughters offers to move her into another neighborhood. I can’t imagine going through this kind of tragedy. I can only say that on the behalf of my family, DC 50 and the people of Washington, DC, all of our thoughts and prayers are with Jennifer and her family as they attempt to cope with this senseless tragedy.
