Paul Wharton of The CW…. and CNN???

That’s right people don’t adjust your screens, there’s no technical difficulty. I’m not sure if it was my model making technique on MTV, fighting with that crazy English chick Becky on VH-1, the women I helped get dates on The Ricki Lake Show, The formerly obese man that I gave a fresh, new look to on TV One or my heart to heart conversation about “Ho Cakes” with Paula Deen on DC 50’s Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show but CNN has called and I’ve answered. They asked me to come on air and contribute my views on Style in 2009. I’ll be shooting my first piece this evening at around 7:30pm. I was just watching DC 50 and one of my “Hollywood on The Hill” interstitials was playing. I was jumping around with Samuel L. Jackson, Omarosa, Spike Lee and Stevie Wonder. Wow, that was fun! I might have to get a bit more serious but I’m up for the challenge.

Do you all remember how it felt when we were kids the night before the first day of school? We pulled out our best new pair of Guess jeans and British Knight sneakers (at least I did).. We got a up a little extra early to make sure our hair was perfect and we got to the bus on time… Well, fast forward several years later and I’m all grown up. The British Knights have been retired and the school bus is now a chauffered black Lincoln town car. But one thing that stayed the same is that youthful, nervous energy. That energy helps you keep it real when things get a little fancy and fabulous. It lets you know that you don’t have it all figured out and that the kid inside of you still has room to learn, grow and experience new things.

So I’m raising my cup of green tea to extraordinary new adventures. Might we all encounter positive challenges that remind us of how we felt as children. And isn’t it really so wonderful to know that even as kids, we never backed down from a challenge?

Peace and Blessings,

Paul Wharton xx
