Things are getting really hot in here, too hot if you ask me. You’ve all heard about the issues my friends, Tareq and Michaele Salahi are facing surrounding their recent “appearance” at The White House State Dinner. Although much of the story hasn’t come to light, the facts are, they attended the event and took pictures taken with some of the most powerful political figures in the world. (From the set of “Where the Elite Meet on WDCW-TV, host Paul Wharton with Tareq and Michaele Salahi)
In every situation there’s two sides to the story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I don’t know exactly what happened but I do know that Michaele and Tareq are not a threat to National Security. They might be guilty of a horrific social blunder and social climbing at the highest level possible but they are basically good people that mean well.
Something tells me if I showed up at The White House unannounced, I would not have been waved through the gates with no prior clearance. I mean really… Can you imagine, my most slim fitting tuxedo, big Dior shades and my hair freshly blown out! Nope, wouldn’t happen. Someone had to be expect them, don’t you think?
My goodness I’m happy this wasn’t me. I understand proper protocol but I can understand the allure of being invited (in any capacity) to the White House. Most of us would’ve been standing up there with Joe Biden grinning and snapping as many shots as we could.
To be continued… What are your thoughts?
Paul Wharton xx
You are too kind! If it were you, I wonder if their response would’ve been the same. All in all a crime was committed, it it has nothing to do with how nice you are. Martha Stewart gave a lot in the community and is a matriarch in her own right. At the end of the day she did time for the crime that that was committed. I can state a laundry list of good people who paid for acts they participated in directly or indirectly, but a crime is a crime no matter how nice you are and despite the many great things you may or may have not done. Why should the Salihi’s be any different? Please do not undervalue the protocol for the highest office in our country. How dare the Salahi’s or anyone to think they are above the law of our land that they can disrespect our President, the administration, and our country by orchestrating such a disrespectful and criminal act. An example should be made of this so that future acts will not be a thought in the minds of sick people. Gimmick or not, I think one would have to be mentally imbalanced to execute this act of stupidity. I may be very sensitive to this based on the various tactics that individuals have done and said to undermine our Chief Officer and his administration. Our President has enough on his plate and this type of behavior is totally unacceptable from a so-called supporter. I spent a lot of dollars on the campaign for our President. As much as I would love to be personally invited to the White House, I can’t imagine committing such a crime.
Not sure if my comment went through initially. Nonetheless, I believe this to be an unfortunate situation. In my opinion, if factual, these social butterflies showed the White House Security that their system is flawed. The powers that be should be grateful that these flaws were uncovered and presented from Americans who love the limelight vs terrorism. To say that they need a slap on the hand, maybe. The real punishments should be directed at the Secret Service and all other White House Security operatives. There is no margin of error for trained security members, its their job. As a former Fed in the security arena, they would have had my head on a platter for a lessor breach.
So all I can say is thank God nothing bad happened and Secret Service GET ON Your Job. In this economy, I could use a part time job.
